Overview

Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their parents and grandparents to become permanent residents through the Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP).

Process:

The PGP operates through a lottery system where potential sponsors submit an expression of interest, and selected applicants are invited to apply.

Financial Responsibility:

Sponsors must meet minimum income requirements and sign a 20-year undertaking to provide financial support and ensure the sponsored individual does not rely on social assistance.
