What is the difference between a visitor visa and a super visa?
A visitor visa is generally used for temporary travel to Canada, such as tourism, visiting family, or short business visits. A super visa is a special temporary resident visa for eligible parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and it can allow longer stays than a regular visitor visa.
Can I apply for a super visa for my parents or grandparents?
A super visa is intended for eligible parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. IRCC also requires applicants to meet specific conditions, which may include being outside Canada when applying, completing a medical exam, showing proof of qualifying health insurance, and satisfying the officer that they are genuine temporary visitors.
What are common reasons a visitor visa is refused?
A visitor visa may be refused when the officer is not satisfied that the person is a genuine temporary visitor or will leave Canada at the end of their stay. IRCC may consider the purpose of the visit, ties to the home country, family and financial circumstances, and the overall completeness and clarity of the application.
