Overview

Spouses and partners may be sponsored through:

Family Class:

For individuals living outside Canada or those in Canada who do not plan to stay during the application process. This class also applies to conjugal partners and dependent children

Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class:

For spouses or partners living in Canada with valid temporary resident status.

Sponsors commit to financial support for three years, and eligible spouses in Canada may qualify for an open work permit during processing.
